Who is responsible
Wider Notes is the public name used for this site. The individual operator’s name and address are not published at this stage. Send privacy questions or requests to hello@widernotes.com.
Calculator and checklist data stays in your browser
Calculator values are processed only in your browser and are not sent to us. The migration checklist stores the identifiers of checked items in local browser storage so your progress survives a reload. You can remove that information by clearing the checklist or this site’s stored data in your browser.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the site banner. If you decline, it does not load. With permission, it helps us understand aggregate page use and interactions with our tools and direct product links. We do not send calculator values, checklist entries, email content, payment data, or another directly entered value to Google Analytics.
Your choice is stored in your browser so we can remember it. You can change it by clearing this site’s stored data in your browser; the banner will then appear again. Google processes analytics data under its own Privacy Policy.
Video previews
Video cover images are served by Wider Notes, not YouTube. We do not embed a YouTube player or load YouTube images on this site. YouTube opens only when you choose a video or channel link; its privacy policy then applies.
Hosting and security
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this static site. Like other internet infrastructure providers, Cloudflare processes request information such as IP addresses, routing data, device or system information, and traffic metadata to deliver and protect the service. We use this processing to provide a secure, reliable website. Cloudflare describes its processing locations, retention criteria, and safeguards in its privacy policy and data processing addendum.
If you email us
If you choose to email us, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards the message to the operator’s mailbox provider. We receive your email address, message, and any information you include. We use it to answer the request, correct reported errors, protect our legal rights, or keep records we are legally required to retain. We keep ordinary correspondence only as long as it remains useful for those purposes. Cloudflare and the mailbox provider process the message under their own applicable privacy terms.
Legal basis and your rights
We rely on legitimate interests to deliver and secure the site, respond to messages, maintain accurate editorial records, and prevent abuse. Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also complain to Datatilsynet.
Links to other websites
Provider and source links open third-party websites governed by their own privacy policies. Wider Notes does not control what those sites collect after you follow a link. If a product link later uses affiliate tracking, it will be visibly marked before you click it.
