Export the right audience
You need Owner or Admin access to export an audience. If the export controls are unavailable, check your account role before trying another export route.
- Open Audience in Mailchimp.
- If you have several audiences, select the one you want.
- Choose Export audience, then Export CSV in the confirmation.
- Wait for the completion email, then download and unzip the export if needed.
Look for the CSV containing subscribed contacts. The archive can also include unsubscribed, non-subscribed and cleaned contacts in separate files. Inspect the file names and contents before selecting anything for import. Do not combine every file into a new active subscriber list.
Check before migrating
Open the subscribed file and check that it contains the audience you intended to export. These files do not include email open and click reports. Export those separately if you need them.
Keep an untouched copy of the export in private storage. Follow the destination service’s instructions for preserving unsubscribes; an export is not permission to resubscribe people.
